When the privacy policies change in a way that affects the way we handle personal information, we will not use the information we have previously gathered without obtaining consent from the appropriate individual.
Information We Collect
Information We Collect from Unregistered Visitors
Visitors to our Website can access the Website's home page and browse some areas of the site without disclosing any personally identifiable information. In some cases, when you visit the Website, Prova Education may, through the use of "cookies" (which are described in greater detail below), automatically collect information about you that is not personally identifiable. Examples of this type of information include the type of Internet browser you are using, the type of computer operating system you are using, the time and date of access, the domain name of your Internet service provider and/or the web site from which you linked to the Website.
Information We Collect When You Register
Users registering for services on the Website are asked to provide us with identifying information, such as name, contact information, and other identifying information. On our registration screen, we clearly label which information is required for registration, and which information is optional and may be given at your discretion.
In addition, we gather information about you that is automatically collected by our Web server, such as your IP address and domain name. Prova Education will use this information to personalize its offerings and presentations to you, facilitate your movements throughout our Websites, provide personalized services, and to communicate with you individually.
Use of any of the services on the Website is entirely voluntary; however, if you do not provide the personal information requested by us, then we may elect not to make the related services available for your use. If you have registered with Prova Education and do not want Prova Education or its partners to contact you in the future, please see Opt-Out below.
When you do provide us with personally identifiable information, we will take appropriate steps to protect the information you share with us. In this regard, our policy is that we do not give, sell or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to anyone outside the Prova Education organization or selected Prova Education partners unless we first disclose to you at the time of collection that your personal information may be provided to third parties. However, there are certain limited instances where we may disclose or transfer personally identifiable information. For example, we may provide such information to appropriate authorities if we believe in good faith that the law requires it or to protect the legal rights or property of Prova Education. Additionally, as we continue to develop our business, we may buy or sell business assets. In such transactions, customer information is generally one of the transferred business assets. However, we are not in the business of selling customer information to others, and aside from certain exceptional circumstances, we will take appropriate measures to ensure the protection of the information you provide to us.
Continuing Medical Education/Continuing Education
When you register for a Continuing Medical Education ("CME") or a Continuing Education ("CE") activity through our Website, we collect certain personally identifiable information from you such as your name, email address and mailing address. In addition to personally identifiable information, we collect aggregated non-personally identifiable information about the activities undertaken by our users. We use the information that we collect through CME/CE activities in several ways:

ACCME accredited entities are required to periodically to submit aggregated data about CME participants and the CME activities we certify. We also provide personally identifiable information to other accredited CME/CE providers who certify CME/CE activities posted on Prova Education, as required by the ACCME and other accrediting bodies. These reports may include personally identifiable information about you and credits issued to you, for the purpose of maintaining records that you can request from the accredited provider for up to six (6) years;
ii. Commercial supporters of CME/CE activities on our Website will receive only aggregated data about CME/CE activities that are relevant to their interests and/or the courses they support;
Your Web browser can be set to allow you to control whether you will accept cookies, reject cookies, or to notify you each time a cookie is sent to you. Please refer to your browser instructions or help screen to learn more about these functions. If your browser is set to reject cookies, Websites that are cookie enabled will not recognize you when you return to the Website, and some Website functionality may be lost. The Help section of your browser will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting cookies.
Although cookies do not normally contain personally identifiable information, if you are a registered user we may associate your registration information with cookies our Website places on your computer's hard drive. Associating a cookie with your registration data allows us to offer increased personalization and functionality.
The Website is designed and intended for use by adults, and is not intended for, nor designed to be used by children under the age of 18. Minors under the age of 18 may register for our Website only with the prior written consent of their parent or legal guardian, and then only under the direct supervision of that parent or guardian. The parent or guardian is responsible for providing supervision to ensure the minor's authentication information is kept secure and the credibility of the health record is maintained. We do not collect personally identifiable information from any person we know is a child under the age of 13. In addition, we will delete any records of such personal information that come to our attention. If it comes to your attention that your child under 13 has provided any personal information to the Service, we invite you to notify us so that we may delete the information from our records and discontinue any related features or services.
While Prova Education's policy prohibits children under 13 from registering with the Website, parents should supervise their children's online activities and consider using parental control tools available from online services and software manufacturers that help provide a kid-friendly online environment. These tools can also prevent children from disclosing online their name, address and other personal information without parental permission. For additional information about parental control tools, please consult the "Consumer Assistance" page of the Direct Marketing Association home page (www.the-dma.org).
Uses We Make of Information
We create aggregate data about visitors to our Website for product development and improvement activities. We may provide information from our Website in aggregate form, with identifying information removed, to third parties. For example, we may tell a health care partner what percentage of our registered users reside in a particular geographical area. When aggregated health information is provided, we pool it from many individual records and strip it of any data that could be used to identify an individual before it is used. Any third party that receives aggregated health care data must agree not to attempt to re-identify the people it belongs to.
Protection of Information
We have implemented technology and security policies, rules and other measures to protect the personal data that we have under our control from unauthorized access, improper use, alteration, unlawful or accidental destruction, and accidental loss. We also protect your information by requiring that all our employees and others who have access to or are associated with the processing of your data respect your confidentiality.
Prova Education uses security methods to determine the identity of its registered users, so that appropriate rights and restrictions can be enforced for that user. Reliable verification of user identity is called authentication. Prova Education uses both passwords and usernames to authenticate users. Users are responsible for maintaining their own passwords.
Storage of Information
Information in our data centers is backed up routinely, in order to aid in the recovery of information in the event of accidental damage of information or due to a natural disaster. The backup media is stored in a physically secure storage facility.

Prova Education will give you access to the personally identifiable information Prova Education has collected from you in order to allow you to review and update that information. Further, if you believe that registration information collected by our Website is in error, you may edit your personal profile any time that you like directly on the Website. Requests for deletion of your record may result in your removal from the registry, but we may keep certain non-personally identifiable demographic information about you for product improvement purposes.
