      I obtained a BS (Hons) from Monash University in Melbourne Australia in 2000 and my PhD in Physiology from the same institution in 2005 before moving to the Medical College of Wisconsin for a post-doctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Prof Allen W Cowley. In 2011 I accepted a faculty position at the Medical College of Georgia/Augusta University in Augusta Ga, (formerly Georgia Regents University). I am presently an Associate Professor in the Department Physiology and have authored or co-authored 52 peer reviewed manuscripts and 3 book chapters. My laboratories primary research focus has been in the field of hypertension, renal injury, whole animal and renal physiology. I am the principal investigator on an NIH NIDDK R01 investigating the role of the voltage-gated proton channel Hv1 on cardiovascular and renal function in the Dahl salt-sensitive rat model and a project leader on a program project grant (NHLBI) investigating the role of Damage-associated molecular patterns on the development of Hypertension. I have been awarded both the 2014 New Investigator Award from the Water and Electrolyte Homeostasis Section of the American Physiological Society and 2015 Arthur Guyton Award for Excellence in Integrative Physiology from the American Physiological Society for my work in these areas.
