  • Overview

    Historically, multiple sclerosis (MS) has been considered a disease seen largely in the non-Hispanic white population, but more recent research has proven that is not the case. In minority populations, MS is distinguished by differences in disease onset, presentation, and course. The clinical picture for minority patients is also complicated, but the fact is that optimization of care for these patients is often difficult because they are underrepresented in clinical trials, resulting in limited evidence from which clinicians can base decisions about treatment and follow-up.
